The whole concept of the Defence Reserve Employment Program (DREP) is to offer young men and women a traineeship pathway to kick start their careers. It is a government incentives were Alliance and the Defence Force Army Reserve have partnered up to offer these such positions.

How it works? Well if you gain enlistment into the Army Reserve then Alliance People Solutions will offer you a traineeship mainly in the three following career paths;

  • Business Administration
  • Retail
  • Stores and Warehousing (distribution)

However Alliance is not limited to these three options as we can offer others just as long as you have a desire to join the Army Reserve, our DREP team will source you a Host Employer for the duration of the traineeship through our program.

The DREP team has designed the Defence Enlistment Preparation course to assist you to obtain enlistment into the Army Reserve so that you get a better understanding of what’s involved of the process, you will also learn Job Ready Skills and interview techniques to prepare you for enlistment.

To be eligible for our program you must:

  • Successfully complete a Free 3 week intensive training course provided by the Federal Government’s Australian Apprenticeship ACCESS program
  • Be At least 16 and 9 months of age
  • Have Year 9 education with passes in English and mathematics
  • Be medically and physically fit
  • Pass an Australian criminal check
  • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing
  • Be an eligible and Active Job Seeker

Does your business need work-ready trainees or apprentices?

Would you like to employ a trainee or an apprentice at a cheaper rate?

Well this is for you!!

Through our DREP program Alliance can supply your business with an Army Reservist trainee at an extremely competitive rate. The trainee will be on-hire through Alliance which saves your company costs associated with Workers Compensation, Payroll Tax and Superannuation.

Initially, DREP candidates are prepared for enlistment into the Army Reserve, where they are provided with three weeks of intensive training. The training is delivered as part of the Federal Government’s Australian Apprenticeship ACCESS program, designed to equip trainees with a mix of skills that ensures they are ‘work-ready’.

 

Once DREP participants have completed the ACCESS program and are successfully enlisted in the Army Reserve, Alliance will then work with you, the Host Employer, to place suitable candidates within your business as a trainee.

 

Trainees are available within a range of Cert II, Cert III and Cert IV positions including Retail, Stores and Warehousing, Business Administration, IT and many others.

These reservist’s gain capability and experience through formal Defence courses, on-going refresher training and day-to-day experience as they put their skills into practice and advance in responsibilities, rank, and leadership ability. Every reservist has gone through extensive testing to be employed into the Army Reserve, and they must undergo a series of tests, which include;

  • Aptitude and psychological testing,
  • Defence Force medical examination,
  • Pass a Physical fitness test,
  • Has undertook an Australian Federal Police check;
  • Defence Interview

 

These Candidates have been able to get through the stringent Army testing, and have been interviewed by Alliance People Solutions to determine their suitability to your organisation.

We cover off on all associated costs such as

  • Workers Compensation
  • Payroll tax
  • Superannuation
  • Leave
  • Leave loading, just to name a few.

This will save your company a lot of money on hiring staff.
